Accused Dallas County bank robber tries to escape ... - Crime Blog

There are many ways to try to escape from federal custody.

Running out of a courtroom is not the most effective.

Kenslesl Ambca Williams found that out earlier this year.

Williams is accused of robbing the Prosperity Bank at 333 West Kiest Blvd. in Dallas on Jan. 4. He threatened a teller and walked out with $6,414 in a brown paper bag, federal court records state.

The next day he was arrested and brought before U.S. Magistrate Irma C. Ramirez for his initial appearance. When Ramirez ordered him detained, Williams ran out of the courtroom, documents state.

He was caught in the hallway.

Williams has since pleaded guilty to bank robbery and attempted escape from federal custody and has a sentencing hearing scheduled for Monday, records show.
